Launched in 2017, Bala Baya brings the essence of Tel Aviv to Bankside’s Union Street Arches, the first stand-alone project from Israeli born Chef Eran Tibi, who’s vibrantly progressive cuisine pays homage to his roots. The restaurant is a poem to Tel Aviv, its countless culture meeting in the city’s buzzing, bustling street life. The atmosphere and aesthetic is reproduced in Bala Baya’s interior architecture and design by multi-award-winning designer, Afroditi Krassa, reflecting the particular Desert Bauhaus of the city – an urban, sun-drenched, modernist masterpiece.
The wine-tasting will be led by Andrew Gordon, Managing Director and partner of Private Cellar, which was voted 'Best Indie in Britain' in www.jancisrobinson.com's competition to find the best independent wine merchant in the world (September 2014). Private Cellar was founded in 2005 by three friends - previously colleagues at a London City wine merchant. Since then, the team has grown in number but the mission remains the same: to provide a truly personal wine service, offering a focused range of wines which are outstanding in their category, sourced direct from growers PC admires and are proud to represent.
