Please join the Dartmouth Club of London for a pre-US election talk with Dartmouth Professor John Carey, who will look to address the following question: “Can we rely on the polls and what are they telling us?”

Professor John Carey is the John Wentworth Professor in the Social Sciences. He teaches classes on comparative politics, on Latin America, on elections, and on foreign aid. He is the author of over 100 academic articles, and of 5 books, on constitutions, elections, representation, and democratic accountability. He has consulted on electoral system reform in Nepal, Afghanistan, Jordan, Tunisia, Yemen, South Sudan, Israel, Mexico, Chile, El Salvador, Philippines, and Taiwan. In 2012, he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His wife, Lisa Baldez, is also a Professor of Government at Dartmouth College. Their son, Joe, is a ’15, and second lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. Their son, Sam, is an ’18, majoring in Math.
