FinTech is generating a lot of buzz in London, however it is not obvious how bankers can make the career switch. US Alumni Club invites you to our Career PowWow focusing on the transition from banking to FinTech. Our goal is to provide bankers with relevant information and opportunity to make real headway in pursing opportunities in FinTech.

Ning Cheah, Prodigy Finance (Institutional Investments)
Ning spent almost 10 years in investment banking, focusing on structured finance at Lehman Brothers and UBS before moving into the FinTech space. She joined Prodigy Finance in 2015, a FinTech start-up that focuses on providing funding to international students completing their masters degrees at the top universities around the world. Ning is responsible for raising debt and equity in the capital markets while building and maintaining relationships with institutional partners. She completed an MSc in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London
Daniel Garsin, Elixirr (Innovation Manager)
Daniel is a Manager at Elixirr, a strategic consulting firm that specialises in helping corporates with their innovation agendas. He has worked for a number of large financial services companies in this space - facilitating design thinking workshops, hosting Executive Visits to San Francisco and scouting for innovative and relevant FinTech startups. Prior to joining Elixirr, Daniel worked at Deloitte and he is an alumni of the University of Cambridge
Romi Savova, PensionBee (Founder & CEO)
Romi has spent her career at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, holding varied roles in investment banking, risk management and financial technology. Romi is responsible for the overall strategic development and operational management at PensionBee. Prior to founding PensionBee, she was Head of Corporate Development at Credit Benchmark, an Index Ventures portfolio company. Romi holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she graduated as a George F. Baker scholar.
Max Chymsuk, Fleximize (Founder & Managing Partner)
Max is Founder and Managing Partner at Fleximize, a UK company providing revenue-based finance (RBF) and flexible repayment loans to small and medium-sized businesses. He has spent over a decade spent in banking focused on funding and hedging solutions, derivatives, bilateral loans, bonds and notes for companies of various sizes and industries. Held sales, structuring and marketing/origination roles, primarily looking after Russia, CIS and CEE financial institutions. Max is an angel investor is a number of technology and brick-and-mortar start-ups in the UK. He holds an MBA Finance (magna cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame (IN, USA). BA Economics from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Kyiv, Ukraine)
Alexa Fernandez, US Alumni Club President and BBVA (FinTech Partnerships)
Alexa does Market Development at BBVA's New Digital Businesses, the team focusing on strategic investment and partnerships with FinTech firms (e.g. Atom and Google Wallet). After running the Georgetown UK Alumni Club for 6 years, Alexa founded the US Alumni Club to create a wider alumni community and support Club Leaders and currently serves as its President. Alexa obtained a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a MBA/MPP from Georgetown University.
