To kick off  Pitt's presence in London, the Club organized a reception attended by ore than 100 Pitt alumni s well as students studying abroad in ondon on 27 May 2014. The Provost presented s. Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba (KGSB MBA ’90) with the 2015 International Distinguished Alumna Award rom the Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration.

Since 2008, Botswanan Masire-Mwamba has held the post of deputy secretary-general for political affairs for the Commonwealth of Nations.  She is the most senior woman in the Commonwealth Secretariat.

This event introduce the Europe Pitt Club and some of the board members to the broader Pitt European alumni community (with attendees from five European countries and ven ne from China). 

itt University aims to replicate this event in a new city throughout Europe each yea, and for local Club to host ne to two  events each yea.
